Working towards printing helped give me
insight on how weight and texture is affected by real world materials, and I
can use that information to create materials in the game space.
It is great practice in building what you observe, within a set of standards – size, silhouette, and balance in the structure. With these in mind you learn to work within a limit – including optimized polygon count to prevent print errors, without overloading the model with vertices.
